At first, I thought the “surprising” feature of this wall, from Phil Plait’s title, looked like a little mouse looking at us from the far end of a big crack. only after reading Phil’s explanation did I see that what I thought was a mouse was actually the ash. And like Phil, I can no longer un-see the cigar. Though,

those clips on The Daily Show, looked to me like Kelly was deliberately being gentle, to let Drumph make a fool of himself. Avoided getting into an insult match, which would have let Drumph blame her for starting the argument. I really hope even Drumph supporters would see his response as a little to snide and

Bumper sticker with really small text: “If you can read this, you are tailgating!”

Exactly, Watterson was an artist. I’m sure the car for C&H was just a generic rendering of the most common econoboxes of the period he drew the toon. His drawings contain a mish mash of features from various models, just to draw the car quickly. He also needed to avoid “product placement” comments about his toons, and

I was continually distracted by the license plates. two seperate cars each had a license of 55-55 and another car was 9-99. Were those fake plates to keep the cars anonymous (a paper plate slapped over the actual plate)? I appreciated the artistry applied to the cars to personalize each as a singular object, to

His argument AGAINST the Miata is actually the best reason FOR a Miata. He says a teenager wants to have a car, and to be cool, needs room to pile all his friends in, to show off. That is not the way to drive safely. Talk about distracted driving. A Miata keeps your passenger count to one. Lets the driver maintain

yeah, maybe the driver was holding a cell phone to his ear, and the cop wanted to check if he was distracted.

don’t try to visually estimate the distance by appearance alone. given it’s a dashcam, the most accurate measure is “the 2 second rule”. when the first car passes a fixed object, time how long it takes the dashcam to pass the same object. if it is more then 2 seconds then the rule is being followed.

How about, “Noname”. There is a Boston Restaurant, that for years actually lacked a name (was originally just some kind of dockworkers lunch cafe), but became famous locally by everyone referring to it as “The NoName” The restaurant recently adopted it, and put up a sign over their door as the restaurant’s formal

Boston had their lights do a simultaneous red/yellow to indicate “walk”. Sure to baffle all non-Bostonians visiting Boston to drop off their kid to college. The FAQ they gave at my college had that as the first question: Are lights with both yellow and red lit, broken?”

The problem is the film that is being used to show the scene to us, in a galaxy very far away. That is, since no one in the film reacts to the shitty hologram it must be that we are the only ones who see it as shitty.

Donald has taken to in his advance playing Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Born in the USA.’

Big Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy: The Martian

yeah he used the wrong word to spotlight his ogling at her being an exhibitionist. He might have been a little less offensive by just noting her skimpy apparel, with “nice bra you got there *wink*”.

The backup steering device is not there to pop out in emergency situations, nor for the driver to use instead in an emergency. It allows the operator to choose, when entering, to either let it drive itself, or do the driving personally.

drone will provide a nifty ovrhead view of surroundings for the auton to use for navigation, of course. (overhead view is omething I’ve often wanted for my own adventures. while cruising.) Pesky trees might be a problem.

no mention of the dent? I suppose it is courteous to simply ignore it, but if I was there my eyes would be constantly darting towards it. Good job, Ballaban and Hardigree.

Bluebird P510???

Leaving your ticket in the car isn’t always best either.
