What makes an exaggeration racist? If it's based on fact, it's just a stereotype, which isn't inherently racist. Stereotypes are always based in fact. When does a stereotype cross the line into racism?

We don't know that he was exaggerating the black persons accent. Back then, black people didn't have the same opportunities for education, and speaking in such a manner was unfortunate, but common.
