Um, yes, it would. Yes, you could buy two of the Chinese version for the same price as one of the Apple ones, but the article certainly seems to indicate that this is not a good idea.

Again, why are we comparing expensive HDMI cables to this $19 cable?

Feel free to call BS. I got that message on one of my cables as well, however it still did a fine job of charging my phone. I plug in, dismiss the message, and then go on about my business with my phone happily charging.

From the article:

Comparing a $19 Lightning cable to a $150 HDMI cable makes no sense.

It doesn't matter what it costs Apple to manufacture the cable, it matters what the cable is worth to you. If you want one, and having $19 in your wallet is worth less than the convenience/utility of having the cable, then you should buy it.

That's a perfectly valid reason to go with a 3rd party cable. Saving $10 is not, especially when there is a warning from the company making the cable that it could be rendered useless at any time without warning.

"For under $10, I'll take my chances with China, thank you"

13" MacBook Air is just a big 11" MacBook Air. Also, 55" Samsung LED is just a big 46" Samsung LED...

“There are no plans to make a tablet,” Jobs was quoted saying to Mossberg. “It turns out people want keyboards…. We look at the tablet, and we think it is going to fail.”

iPad mini is $600?

We choose to make this pencil drawing in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard. Duh.

I like the one that says "Rape Sux" on the wall. Because it does.

And you continue to display your own ignorance...

When I see posts like this, I wonder if the person posting is uneducated, or if English is their second language.

No one that writes for this site is a journalist. They are bloggers, writing their opinions.

I think the point about if it sells out quickly is because if it doesn't, why not just walk in and buy one. Pre-orders only make sense for something you might not be able to get on launch day.

While I'd never buy this thing, the benefit of something like this over a used item on eBay is that it comes with a warranty and a good return policy. For me that's worth a little extra cash.

I'm not sure about every model, but I bought an Insignia Blu-ray player last year for my garage that was obviously made by Samsung. It had the exact same front panel, remote, and inputs as the Samsung I bought the year before, but it said Insignia instead of Samsung on the front. Anyway, great player for the price.

Cute. Obviously you can't refute the facts I've presented, so you fall back on your little joke. Good enough.
