The 30 pin iPad 10v charger does not usb like every other modern day iPhone charger. That is the only exception as far as I see. The standard is USB to 30pin with a wall charger.

Yes, it charges via USB through the dock connector (as do the Samsung tablets and the Asus Transformers), but when plugged into a wall outlet it pulls 10v, which I don't believe is possible over a standard micro USB connection.

You are missing the point. Your argument was that the 30pin connector provided more current. IT DOESNT. Your argument is USB vs Firewire.
