Eh, where did you live in DC? Cause if you lived in NoVA or Cap Hill, I can understand this opinion. If you lived along the Green/Yellow - then you didn’t get out enough. There are some pretty damn good Mexican spots. Not life changing great but solid.

Yeah there is great El Salvador, Dominican, and Jamaican food up towards Petworth. It’s been a few years since I’ve been there so the starbucks/targets of Columbia Heights may have begun to push it out.

Des Moines actually has a lot of Mexicans... Seasonal workers and Chicago (and surrounding cities) have the highest population of Mexicans outside of the border states.
