Seriously. My neighborhood has an active NextDoor site, and we have a ton of old people. One of them posted about catching someone slicing open her windows when returning home from walking her dogs, and I was like, Fuuuuuuuuu I am never sleeping again and also teaching my dogs to like to eat human flesh.
See this is so much more terrifying than fake imaginary furniture stories. The scariest thing to happen to me was I went to a concert in a not great part of the city and all the parking was on the street and apparently street lights hadn’t been invented yet so it was dark as balls. Decided to leave early and on the…
Star dis if u cry evertim
I have to read them alone. If my husband ever catches me, he calmly closes my laptop and says “I would like us to get some sleep tonight.” LOL
My mom and her siblings were walking home from church at night in rural Mississippi the early ‘50s. They were talking and laughing but quieted down when they saw someone in the dark approaching them on the opposite side of the road.
Yeah, I’m going to need a follow-up since it just happened earlier this summer. Like, does she still live there? Did she change the locks? Put bars on her windows? I don’t think I’d ever sleep fucking again.
Don’t worry, I’m leaving is so unbelievable. A nurse with a consistent schedule? Ridiculous.
Like overtheriver1991, I too thank and resent my friend for telling me that story. I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks it’s terrifying.
I’m disappointed. One of the three requirements for submission is that the story has to be true. There’s only three requirements!! And yet clearly fake bs like the armoire story “wins”? :(
;) anytiem
There’s only three requirements for submission, and one of them is that the story has to be true. So how does stuff like this end up “winning”? Makes me sad and angry. Sangry?
Yeah, I’m bummed that this one was so obviously fiction and still won. I couldn’t vote for that one. It was well written, but obviously didn’t really happen. I want real unexplained occurences, not creepypasta.
That one was scary. I was also really partial to the story about the woman who was sleeping in her pickup truck camper (which couldn’t be locked from the inside!) in the woods in the middle of nowhere in a national park, and the other car that drove up and parked next to them in the middle of the night. Aaaaagh, I’m…
“I kind of figured it was fake”
“Jane was living on a farm in very rural Appalachia”
That was an excellent selection. Although I wish it was one entry longer because the one about the guy on the Craigslist date with the guy who worked real estate and was making noises in the basement was terrifying. I thought about that story for DAYS after I read it. Scary as hell.
So ur with ur honey and yur making out wen the phone rigns. U anser it n the vioce is “wut r u doing wit my daughter?” U tell ur girl n she say “my dad is ded”. THEN WHO WAS PHONE?
“My Baby.”
I spent an entire evening last week reading all of the comments and then the previous years stories and scared myself so hard. Bf was very annoyed that he essentially had to babysit me for the night. I’m sure he will be thrilled about this!
