This is HILARIOUS not because of the car itself, but because I used to work for that dealer group (Car Nation Canada) for about 5 years and NEVER in my wildest dreams thought I would EVER see their logo on the pages of Jalopnik.

The car showed up on a local auction’s Facebook page a few months ago; I had no idea they

That’s an ST165 Celica; ST185 was the next generation, the “rounder” one. My friend has an ST205 GT-FOUR WRC edition here in Canada.

I must be the only person in the universe who thought this movie SUCKED!

Keep your eyes on the steering box too.

Ah, now there’s some memories! The car I grew up in was a white ‘86 Ciera Brougham with blue interior. The car had a few front/rear fascia combinations, but this car looks exactly like my Dad’s minus the colour and the missing hubcaps. My parents still have a laminated picture of them taking delivery of the car

You’re making it even more obvious that you lack basic reading and comprehension skills based not only on the atrocious spelling and grammar in your post, and the fact that you are resorting to grade-school-level name-calling, but also by the fact that he very clearly clarified his earlier statement, and yet you are

Intrigue was “mid-size”; same approximate size as a Grand Prix (and shared some components with that vehicle). Intrigue was also V6-only, and 4-door only.

Very late to the party, but I don’t think this car deserves the hate it’s receiving in this article.

I agree. My ‘88 I had was a license-plate car, and by that I mean the plate was between the tail-lights instead of the gaudy “PORSCHE” reflectors, and I much prefer that look to this one.

I’m very late to the party, but I had an ‘88 944 base for about 2 years, back in the late oughts. Got it with 112k miles on it, from my Uncle, for $1000, as I was in a bind for a car, and he had just moved to California and just wanted it gone. It was far from perfect; PURPLE exterior on white leather interior colour

Am I the only one who thinks racing stripes are tacky in this day and age? And yet OEM’s seem to think they’re still en vogue for some reason. First the Toyota 86 “special edition” with a racing stripe, and now this.

A ‘91 Tempest with the 3.1 was my very first car, inherited from my auto shop teacher in high school for free. 345,000km, whore-house red interior, and rust everywhere. All I had to do was replace the windshield for safety. We rattle-canned it flat black because of the common shitty GM clear-coat, and I got a good

My take on it is that they don’t WANT to build a hot version. The whole premise of this car was for it to be a blank slate that owners can modify to their individual tastes, and that includes a multitude of forced-induction options that are readily available on the aftermarket.

I like that you mention it’s similarity to your 944, as that’s exactly how I felt when I first got my BRZ. Reminded me very much of my 944 that I used to have.

As much as I loved the damn thing in many ways...I was happy to be rid of my E90 335i.

You got lucky!

Yeah it was a lift-out panel, totally opaque (not glass). You had to take it off and put it in the trunk if you wanted to let the rays in. It had a “vent” function like most new sunroofs, where the back would lift an inch or two. The little legs that lift it at the back are supposed to lock into channels on the roof

I had no idea where it was at first either.

Went to a Cars and Coffee here in Toronto at the end of summer. Always expect to see interesting metal there, but did NOT expect to see a 959 AND an F40 (black, of all colours) in the same place!! Not the first time I’ve seen an F40, but it’s the only black one in Canada as far as I know, so that made it special. It

I could fill an entire post for you with JUST the quirks from my old 944.
