Actually it was spearheaded by Mercedes to keep people from grey-market importing their cars. You could save up to $10,000 by importing a car direct from Europe instead of through Mercedes USA due to the value of the dollar vs other currencies at the time.

Being combative toward organizations that don’t want to play by the rules is kind of the whole point of unions.

So Troy says he doesn’t want to work for the company because Gearbox (which is in Texas) doesn’t support unions. To which Gearbox replies and says “we can’t deny anyone employment if they’re in a union.” Then SAG-AFTRA replies “nobody said shit about that, get fucked.”

He’s about to be cease-and-desisted so hard.

Sticker headlights. Template body. Literally nothing shared with the production car. NASCAR being called “stock car” racing is beyond a joke.

Perhaps I’m just becoming more cynical, but this has me worried. More often than not, when game companies do any kind of review stalling it turns out not great. Between this and Polygons review, I’m hesitant on picking this one up right away.

Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, the website VG247 reports that they and their fellow European video game outlets also haven’t gotten codes for security reasons.”

fuck is this an Epic store exclusive??

My guess is they want epic store accounts because it means they can fully track a person’s actions, most likely beyond the application too to the actual computer.

Given the reviews that I’ve read haven’t exactly been glowing, I would suspect part of this more about “who can we trust not to ream us up the ass when it turns out the game is just as buggy as we think it is” than it is about “OMG - they leaked the plot that we also revealed in the trailers” security.

they’re just sharing Randy’s Epic account and he has to change the password every time they send it to a new reviewer.

“Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, the website VG247 reports that they and their fellow European video game outlets also haven’t gotten codes for security reasons.”

I guess I shouldn’t be shocked, but 2K and Gearbox have been unloading clip after clip into their own foot and I just can’t understand why. I mean other than the usual issue of misguided power oafs being unable to change course.

You guys are a security concern eh?  Why not just send out normal codes, I doubt the game will have epic super story spoilers or stuff like that..

:/

No radical message about saving the still burning Amazon? No demands to free children from detention centers? Just... “...setting up domain”?

Man. THAT’S some privilege right there.

Just....why? Why would they do this? Just to make people upset? These people must lead sad, empty lives...scraping by an existence fueled by other pain instead of love. Gross and sad.

Ah I see the script kiddies got bored and are in need of attention.

The trouble with this logic is that EVERY change breaks someone’s workflow, so treating that fact as an obstacle inevitably leads to stagnation

Yeah, they should keep building where it belongs and that is in Save the World. It was always an awkward holdover from StW in BR and no tweaks will change that.

Not that the BR formula is salvageable long term in the first place, but the building certainly won’t save it and every nerf Epic does to it in BR seems like

Damn, was gonna finally give them game a shot. Was never big on building in any game unless its an RTS. But I know keeping streamers happy is their number 1 priority. I was checking out the update on their Reddit because I was interested and it seemed like most of the fans there were okay with the change.
