Please don’t give in to the weather channel. Winter storms don’t have names.
Jonathan, I grew up in Springfield, but have lived in KC the last thirty years. Closest thing in Kansas City is Hibachi Go in Lenexa. Worth the drive. Growing up in Springfield you just didn’t do burgers or pizza it was always Chinese. Springfield sweet and sour chicken is a different than that red glop that is served…
You order it sauce on the side. That way you control the amount of sauce, and the chicken stays crispy. Springfield is the only place that I know of that you can always get your order “all white”, which does describe the town, but also the chicken.
Aimee wins for her take on Springfield Cashew Chicken--totally different on the way it is fried and with that oyster sauce with cashews it is ridiculous that it hasn’t caught on around the country. Springfield Sweet and Sour is better than the bright red crap everywhere else as well. If you are in the KC area try…
Not so sure about the reliability, father in law has an 2018 and hates it. He gets a new Navigator every two years and has for the last 15 or so. He is shopping GMC now. Swears it is always in the shop for some reason or another. He puts a ton of miles on them, and expects it to be perfect for that price-can’t say…
I just pulled up behind one today....TELLURIDE is spread out over about 4 feet, it is so long it needs its own Jalopnik article.
Wasn’t this the ‘can of tuna’ that no one really ever wanted to be seen on?
This is not the Kansas team you are looking for.....
Plaza is terrible, Power and Light is terrible, Science City is awful...Stick to the Nelson-while you are there walk over to the Kemper-which is also fantastic. WWI museum is definitely worth it. Plenty of good food and drink if you look around.
The aquarium is actually very good...Steal Your Dollar City is what we always called it in Branson. Then there is Cashew Chicken...which we all know is the only reason to go to Springfield, and Mother’s beer.
I’ve paid for three...okay the second one we split the cost...still worth it....
My kid at 8 years old starting ordering things with “onions on the side”...I asked him why--”If you tell them no onions they will mess it up and still put onions on it....if you ask for on the side they just don’t put them on the burger”....little genius!
Food trucks in the KC area are usually a let down. Not horrible, but rarely memorable. Concepts are good, execution is often lacking.
Bath sheets are awesome...if they were striped and brightly colored you would call it a beach towel. IKEA sells some nice and cheap ones. Much more drying power with a bigger towel.

would love to see some more pics of that
Scallops....I usually have a pound in the freezer...when I finally get a night alone in the house-quick to thaw and sear... I cook and eat the whole batch. No regrets.
Pet Peeve...when the “boss” shows up in a lifted bro-truck that has no tools/nothing in the bed...so I’m paying the hard working guys so this other guy can drive around in the light bar encrusted Dodge?
When they shoot the commercials----slap a Gobi rack/ladder with a RTT and a snorkel and it will sell like hotcakes!
Here is a 2002 in KCMO for 3 grand....My wife would think I was nuts if I bought this...but come on 3K https://kansascity.craigslist.org/ctd/d/2002-mitsubishi-montero-sport-xls-4x4/6772751508.html
