I’m at most a foot taller than our fermenting bins, so when I’d be doing Brix and temp I could see the CO2 rolling over the sides and I’d still have to lean over into them to take samples since they don’t have tasting ports. Ah, the joys of winemaking!

There are so many ways to kill a person here, it’s crazy. I’ve always thought an open top fermentor would be my dumb way to die.

Haha, oh God, tours! I do so many things but do they ever visit when I can talk to them? No, I have to be covered in yeast, hauling sample buckets of fruit, running timed tests on the spec where fuck off, I’m not talking to you, or just any sort of compromising position where I want not to be looked at.

Same for you guys! I’m lucky in that my boyfriend is working with me, so we actually get to see each other all the time. He finally understands the craziness that I had gone through all the other years. Thanksgiving is when we get to see non-winery peeps!

I know I’m late to the party, but it’s harvest and I run the lab at the winery where I work, so I’m pretty busy right now.
