I am the current owner of a 1970 VW Beetle. My mother and Grandmother bought it new from the Wolfsburg factory in Germany in the summer of 1970. After driving it in Germany, Italy, and France it was shipped back here to Southern California where my mother drove it from the suburbs into Los Angeles everyday for about 8

Not that it’s a bad thing that I have now added Prague to my theoretical trip to all the worlds car museums when I theoretically win the lottery.

Raphael, please keep these articles coming. I love learning about obscure or unknown to ‘Murica engines.

I bought a MINI new in 2003. I made friends with lots of other people that owned MINIs as well. We always would talk about shoving a V8 behind the front seats as the rears were basically useless. It’s great to see that someone has been crazy enough to attempt that same sort of thing. Should be a hoot once it’s done.

I’m not because: California. I know there are ways around it, but still. California.

What going to happen once every staffer at Jalopnik owns a Pike car? More importantly, which of you are going to get the S-Cargo?

When you think of 50 to 60 horsepower pushing (or pulling) the car along, the mind thinks that no fun can be had. As the driver of a similar car I can attest that it’s way more fun to push that low amount of horsepower as hard as you can. It’s a rush to be nearly redlining each gear only to keep up with modern

Volkswagen Type 1 Beetle.

As one of three people that proudly call themselves “Daihatsu Enthusiats” that reside in these United States, you could have asked me. I’m full of useless Daihatsu information.

Wow, this is the first time that I’ve ever taken notice to a Hyundai. That color is very similar to their WRC car too. From a styling point, it’s not as aggressive and in your face as the CTR, and not as ho-hum boring as some of the other hot hatches. It’s just right in my opinion. Dammit, Hyundai, why you do this to

This is going to make it much easier to follow that resolution to watch MORE Rally in 2018!

Yeah that was around the time the Peugeot’s and Focus were the norm. So those Evo’s did look large. And yes, the Octavia did as well.

And I forgot to mention Richard Burns of course and Marcus Gronholm

My New Years resolution is to watch more WRC/ERC/Rally America. I used to love watching the early 00’s stuff with McRae, Tommi, Subaru, Mitsubishi, and Ford. Gone are those days, but really, these new cars are quite something. I am looking forward to NOT breaking my resolution this year. Plus anti-lag is quite

I owned a 2011 Mazda2 Touring with the 5 Speed. I recall calling it a “Japanese MINI” as it replaced my 2003 MINI Cooper (non-S). Glad to see the evolution of this car is good. When the Mazda2 was new, you never saw them on the road, now, years later I see at least 10 a day.

Similar thing happened when I owned my 2003 MINI Cooper (non-S) The five speed manual transmission was prone to failure- another story for another day- but MINI just treated it as a small batch of cars were affected. Kind of interesting that they changed that transmission out for a Getreg unit in 2005....

We will make it all the way to December 2018’s LA Auto Show without the new Supra being shown....

Tom’s is doing some subtle things visually, light aero work and of course wheels that I think make an already great looking car absolutely magnificent.

I have done my part, (NA/ Wagon- lifted) but lost points because of the CVT.....

So, a few things need to happen now. One is someone with more artistic talent and time than I have needs to submit a BlipShift that we can call “Send in the box!” or my favorite, “Sump Guard!!!” And also, this needs to become a challenge at all future RadWood events. Period correct attire required too.
