1st. Gear: The Kia Telluride frenzy has gotten completely out of hand. It’s like people are excited about them solely because people are excited about them.

This is the dilemma i’m in at the moment. Wife wants to go buy a minivan RIGHT NOW and i keep telling her we should wait.

Someone who knows I have an old jeep in the garage just asked to buy it for an insane amount of money.

People need to chill out. Things will settle back in a few months and a lot of folks are going to feel really stupid about what they spent on a car.

Like a lot of “simpler” offroaders, most of the ones that sold ended up driven into the ground (often literally). Any survivors, even if they’re in just a half decent state, start to creep up in price. Happened with FJ40s, happened with Broncos, some older Jeeps, even stuff like older Blazers, squarebody Chevy trucks

There are a few good ones, the VW TDI (or earlier IDI) are the most frequently done diesel conversions, with the 1.6l 8v or 16v EFI from the Vitara / Tracker / Sidekick being the most common swap. A 1.6l 16v EFI will take you from ~66HP to ~105HP (the 8v comes in at about 95HP). A 1.8l TDI puts it at about 140HP - a

I’m baffled by the price, but the used market is effing whack right now anyways. Anything that runs well enough to get through a test drive fetches 4k all over right now.

This ^^

We can’t have the Jimny because if we did, Jeep couldn’t charge people the price of a small house to buy an off-road vehicle.

“That’s pure gasoline”

When I was much younger my friend had one of these. He stripped the interior and had it all coated with Rino Liner, the spray on stuff for truck beds. Put the seats back in and a snorkel. It was gutless as hell but it was one mean off roader that you could get mud or whatever all over and then just hose it off.

If he was black they’d have shot him not long after he hit water. If he was running away he must have been guilty of something, right?

‘Murica.

Not only that but many of them are still harassing the surviving parents with their disaster actor conspiracies. Because losing their kids in such a horrific way wasn’t terrible enough.

I’ve long given up on any sensible gun safety measures in this country. When Americans saw a bunch of dead first graders in a classroom and didn't do anything about it? That's when I knew that there will never be enough people to care.

Gee those taxes would be an awful good way to fund some social services, student loan forgiveness, and/or A New Green Deal.

This... is a lot to unpack.

Never heard of her. I’m old.  Having admitted that, I applaud the efforts.

Gotta peddle to that evangelical vote....the ONLY vote they have left.

I wonder how the GQP will be willing to justify this obvious overreach when asked to justify how this lawsuit is not an infringement on the “support person’s” First Amendment rights?
