People have been doing this to radiator housings for like...forever. Go sit down, you have clearly never wrenched on a vehicle.

It cracked because it got slammed into by road debris. That is a whole lot beefier bit of plastic than what you will find in a typical radiator end tank. It’s going to be just fine for a LOOONG time. Probably longer than if it had never been repaired. 

In the video we can see where whatever debris Donald ran over punctured the plastic pan under the car, a pan that’s more there for aero purposes than protection. It’s not a skid plate.

Nah, I really don’t think so. There’s not enough temperature differential to cause a major dimensional change, and any sealing material they use should take up the 1 or 2 mils of dimensional variation that might occur.

Not sure how a brass piece is going to warp. This is likely stronger than the plastic piece ever was. The only downside I can see is that the plastic housing it went into will likely break before it does, so the potential for the next repair to be much more difficult is higher.

How is this janky? This fix is less likely to break than the original design.
