When I was working on my Poli Sci undergrad I really wanted to become a lobbyist, I think I may have finally found the cause I can really get behind.

"Hello Mr. Congressman, I'm Chris_K_F. I represent the Society for Hooning Imports and Flogging Tires, also known as SHIFT..."

To be fair... when it's available, it's usually not an "option". It's usually the base selection, with the auto being the "option". So perhaps this response should be about an option that should NEVER be selected. :D

Sigh. Sadly harder and harder to option these days.

Uh, YEAH. I was sitting there staring at it, drooling. My daughter was bugging me to go grab some Starbucks, I wouldn't budge. While waiting for some people to get done chatting with John (who happened to be McChiken116 and his father), I just stood there, staring with a goofy half smile.

The Nissan Silvia/200SX/240SX would be a wonderful addition to their current lineup.

Toyota MR-2. Not the silly, underpowered child's-toy convertible, but the turbo coupe of the early 1990s:

The VQ and GTR engines sadly do not make a very pretty sound.

In acting parlance this is known as a "double gesture," and it is considered bad form. Say it or show it. Doing both is redundant, hense, derp.

I think perhaps it's a bit of a reach to describe a car - that has a very dedicated following - as "most over-hyped". I owned and/or driven a Miata, an S2000 and a Boxster. The Miata has steering feel and quality equal to those cars, a small but insanely eager engine and a fun factor that is better than the other two

Have you driven a Miata?

I think you hate everything.

While we are at it with that logic, let's replace "S2000" with Lotus Elise.

I had a mk1 miata as my first car which I then sold to get an S2000. I have to disagree with you, if the S2000 was my first car I'd be dead by day 2 and this is no exaggeration.

And the gas mileage really isn't that good (34/36/38), given all the other compromises You can get a real car with close to or more MPGs. So your basically buying a piece of crap solely for the ability to park in small spaces.

WHAT THE FUCK NISSAN. You'll build THIS:

Too bad. A comically small RWD Toyota with a Hyabusa engine would have made my day.

As someone that owns a Boxster S and a Lamborghini I must say the Boxster is indeed one of the most underrated Porsches ever made. Simply because they are relatively cheap to start with AND are damn cheap 10 years later. As of today $10,000 buys you a very decent Boxster that can be tweaked/souped up to Carrera levels
