I hope it goes well. The Rivian is an awesome looking truck, and I’m excited to see more on the road.

The rear somewhat reminds me of the old taillight fins from the 50s, and I actually like it a lot.
I think its worth pointing out that the F150 is a fullsize truck, whereas the Rivian is more of a midsize truck. It is not surprising that there is going to be some price disparity for the bigger, roomier interior. Plus Ford has a more developed network vs. the new startup.
We will likely be trading in my wife’s Forester XT for a 3-row CUV/SUV as we need something bigger for our needs.
It looks like someone tried to poorly polish a turd.
To be fair, many of the 2-door offroad vehicles in this era drove pretty similar. The squarebody Chevy/GMC (also products of the 70s/80s, but phased out before the Bronco) and the Jeep YJ drove fairly similar. It’s fine for a toy, but certainly not as appealing for a daily driver.
Most ads I see from Beverly Hills Car Club seem to ask way to much for the heaps they try to sell.
With the future evolution of ‘self driving’ technology where drivers can be more disengaged in the driving experience, I almost expect us to be bombarded with ads.
I wouldn’t mind one of the older vans (60s to early 70s), only from a classic car interest perspective. I have no desire for an almost 20 year old Chevy express van, and certainly not for an extreme price of 30K.
I think you’re missing the fact that the Versa isn’t worth 6 grand more - you’re going to still get the normally higher depreciation for the car, but with the additional expense of 6 grand, and if you are taking a loan, the gap insurance costs is added as well. The concept is true with some assets, but the Versa isn’t…
Agreed. Timing is a larger element of success than it sometimes seems to get credit for. You can have the best movie made or an otherwise unremarkable one, but you have to nail the timing right.
The remake is a blockbuster movie, so it certainly had a bit more pizazz over the original. The original is ultimately is a stunt driver driving around being chased by cops, and a simple plot explaining why it’s happening. I personally enjoy watching both probably almost equally, but for completely different reasons.
Based on the spy shots of the upcoming Tacoma, that was my thought. Honestly, it looks pretty good. This has the macho look that the new Tundra has, but with much better proportions. If they fix the deficiencies with the 3rd gen, this would easily keep the Tacoma in the #1 spot for the segment.
I tend to find that most aftermarket headlights, regardless of the car, look chintzy. The headlights would be the second thing I change - the “4" badge being the first. That is the one thing that makes no sense with this car, and I don’t understand why the owner didn’t bother removing it before posting their ad. The…
Flagstaff isn’t the middle of nowhere, but it is a pretty random place to go for a vehicle service during a road trip.
I was actually thinking that the Explorer was a good exception to that rule - I think these looked great.
This. While different girls I had dated appreciated that I liked cars, most didn’t really care what I actually drove. But looking like a slob is typically a turn off for most people.
I’ll watch his videos if it is a more interesting car, but his overall shtick usually is too formulaic and ends up being dull for a number of his reviews. If there are different reviews for the same car, I find that there are far more entertaining Youtube reviewers I would rather watch.
The biggest knock I could see if the current MK8 GTI is the interior - the haptic touch for everything would probably be frustrating for me to live with, whereas the Civic seems much more functional.
One of the issues with the experience, aside from the cost, was it really soured my experience with the car that I had loved up to that point. I ended up selling it and getting a new 2012 WRX not too long afterwards (that I enjoyed as well). Even all these years later, I still miss the 2002. I would love to have…
