Well, Tesla has already opened up their patents. Nothing is really stopping anyone from this becoming the “standard” other than getting all automakers on board with one charging system.
Isn’t that the ultimate problem? Charging “stations” will never suffice in an all-electric future. Wireless, passive charging is the only real solution when there are tens of millions of electric onlys on the road.
