Good. We don’t need more monopolies. In the long run it usually doesn’t end well for everyone except the shareholders.

Bluepoint reverse engineered the source code of Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 from retail discs.

If an organization cancels an event they were going to hold, they should be allowed to explain why. I’m sorry you think keeping their attendees safe and LGBTQ+ people existing (which make up a decent number of speedrunners for some games) are “politics”.

My entire life’s mantra is “there are no guilty pleasures, only pleasures and you should never be ashamed about loving what you love” and man, was Fahey the entire embodiment of that. When I heard the news I was at a loss, he brought so much of himself and fun to the site, and man will that energy be missed. I hope

As a game developer on Disney Infinity, Mike wrote the best review and he was a true fan of the franchise. I was so touched that I friended him for it (and he accepted). I was a big fan of his writing and sense of humor. He will be missed.

Absolutely devastated. He was not having a good time the past few years, and so this is a bummer of a conclusion to a bummer of a story that he and his family tried to make the best of. I cannot imagine how much worse things would be if not for the insurance available through Kotaku, which even then he encountered

Thanks for this. I know folks have been hard on you guys for not posting, selfishly I was one of them. If it’s any consolation, it’s because his work touched so many people throughout the years. He was so visceral about his life and his health, that his death provoked a similar reaction in many of his fans. Mike was

Thank you—and thanks Mike, rest well, you made a lot of people happy. Truly Fahey was the best of us.

How dare you sir, this is the internet, you must have strong feelings!

I just don’t have strong feelings about it. I mostly think it looks nice visually, a bit rough mechanically and if you’re into this brand of humor... well, it’s there.

I love VRChat , the only thing that worries me is that a lot of its charm is that its a copyright wild west ..where you can make ( or find) an avatar of any existing character out there. If it goes too corporate it’ll end up a cross between meta’s lame miiverse characters , and fortnites ‘officially merchandised’

I hope she’ll end up as equally bad, horrible, and morally compromised as other GTA main characters. The kind of character that you know should be sent to jail for a lifetime, but you still kind of like nonetheless. Wouldn’t be GTA otherwise.

You can... just download it and play it right now.

Because America, where you’re better off dead than having to pay off a hospital bill for the rest of your life.

Wow haha I totally forgot about this game — and I’ve even written about it! Great game. I still listen to the soundtrack some days.

An “insider” on Twitter said this is gonna lead to Sony outright buying Konami in order to counteract Microsoft buying Activision. Obviously, this guy is right. After all, if you can’t trust Twitter, who can you trust?

From the softball questions to the bizarre YT videos to the contempt from the ubisoft exec, this is truly dystopian levels of coverage, im almost impressed

A huge loss of hard won customer trust and brand image is not necessarily a minor hardship.

Just dropping into the comments here to state that yes: White Wolf was problematic for sure, but the new World of Darkness team has 100% stepped up and made the IP much more inclusive and progressive.

Man, this is one of those fights where no one wins.
