9% down in September. 23% for the year _is_ more worrying I’ll conceed

I am on Miata #4, but this feels click baity.

GTI is a great allrounder but has generally lacked any ‘fizz’ for me. I’ve owned a mk6, 7 and 7.5.  That being said, the corolla has real buttons for infotainment, so thats a ++ :)

I’m interested to see what the new Type R is all about. The styling looks more acceptable for a middle aged dad like myself. Would like to get back to a more ‘fun’ family car in a few years.

Thanks Jason and David. Thank you.

We’ve got a delta. It’s probably not a replacement for a generator, but in an area that has frequent 12-36 hour power outages once or twice a winter, it’s already made a dent in it’s initial cost with fridge and freezer food spoilage savings. Highly recommended if you occasionally need emergency power

This was my favorite Jalopnik story of the year @jason - well done. Reminded me while I still check this site daily. My 8 year old was absolutely ecstatic about this feature and now wants me to trade my car for a F150.

Seems like an ideal ‘first’ car in 3 years if they depreciate at all.  I’d much rather my teenager have one of these for 15-20k than an econobox.  This can potentially get better mpg and be infinitely more useful for when I need to do things around the house :)

I’d like to have this question answered as well. Which is more fun for a second car, this, or nd2?

Unfortunately right now, there isn’t a ton of ‘cheap’ with modern safety features.  I had my heart set on a eye sight equipped subaru, or even a prius, but now they’re all well outside my 15k price range for something decent....Right now the answer is ‘wait 6 months for the market to balance’ unfortunately.

@jose  - funny story.  I killed the battery in my cayman last night and saw someone post about the left hand ignition.  My key was stuck in the ignition.  Apparently there is a small wire tool inside the fuse box, to push into a hole on the ignition cylinder (under a little door), to release the key.....

I recently had a Toyota Tacoma ‘allocated’ to me.  It wasn’t a factory order per say, but I was able to suggest my configuration when my allocation opened.  So no, it’s not true, they can mostly ‘order’ the car for you.

Article of the day.  Thanks for the laugh.

Except safety.  One of the main reasons I’m going Tacoma.  Crash test rating for Frontier are abysmal unfortunately.

1981 Toyota FJ40 cruiser for me please!

@jason - One of the most enjoyable things I’ve read/watched in ages.  Thank you sir.

Fiesta ST, the Fiesta ST we should get.

Just ordered a Tacoma with a manual. Does that count? I’ve ordered 3 new cars ever and all manual, Mk6 Golf R, Scion Xb and this taco. I’m trying to do my part:)

I sold my 6 month old VW GTI for about $600 less than I paid for it thanks to Covid.  No need to have that $30k sitting in the driveway depreciating.  Sell your truck, buy when this shit’s over.

I went E-Class for my DD.  E350 0-60 is still pretty quick and its got all the cushiness you’ll ever want.
