It’s an extremely distinct design for a modern car. Most car companies lean heavily into “corporate design language” and Toyota didn’t do too much with the Supra. I personally dig the F1 inspired look.

Yeah, they may as well have a big sticker on it that says “Keep Out”.
I almost wonder if those covers (which have what value?) are there to make you take it to the service department, since you can’t really get in there (at least for the non-wrenching population).
But I don’t think Ford was going for “lithe”.
Otis heard it and said "That girl done took my song!"
I’m close to being with you, but I’ve always thought of the Outback as a modern AMC Eagle wagon.
Having spent a few days recently with all 3 generations of a model of car, including the 2025 MY version, I am surprised to find that I generally agree with the sentiment here: There are some things about the older cars that are superior to even the top trims of the newest model. Not just in simplicity and size but…
Well when you have a car where a taillight replacement is $100, a car where the taillight replacement is several thousand dollars can be a bit off putting.
I think at the low to mid-end there’s value — think 4 year old Accord, Camry, Kona, etc if you find one in good shape with low miles. And a 3-4 year old Silverado or F150? Yes, no point in paying crazy new truck prices.
Some people are just delaying the inevitable move to emotionless turbofication as long as possible.
Yeah, I haven’t liked the look of them since the bugeye - but even that wasn’t so much a good looking car as a quirky car. Now they all just sit in the middle of a bland/boring/ugly Venn diagram.
I really want to like these - they’re both on the list of, “if I buy another ICE car, which ones would I consider”, but...neither of them really do it for me, given the price, fuel costs, and the sheer number of things you have to pull the engine completely out of a Subaru for, that would be something you can do in…
Shame because at its core it is a pretty solid car. They have always been kinda ugly. Just not THIS ugly.
Not really surprising as these cars appeal largely to younger drivers, and those buyers have been feeling the squeeze of higher rent and other costs lately. The fun stuff is the first to hit the chopping block; at least for the wiser buyers.
Maaaaaaaaaaybe its because they’re ugly, plastic lumps that generate zero excitement and have nowhere near the power to be classified as “performance” cars.
Good because the WRX is ugly AF
IMO the stinger looks so much better than the EV6
