Ugh.... I've wasted too much time on this. Not going to convince you in this internet fight and you sure as hell aren't convincing me. I'm done. Try not to flip your truck or crash it into anyone. Cheers!

Actually... yep it is pretty hard to argue that. You have anecdotal evidence from 1 "Friend" with no reference to the conditions or situation in which their truck flipped. You're imagining lowered cars flipping others like that crazy thing in the last Fast and Furious, and even with that car DESIGNED TO FLIP OTHER

I'd like to see a source of this information. Got nothing against regular trucks, I actually daily a Frontier. It's when you're bumper is so high off the ground that it's at head height of normal passengers / drivers. I don't even mind a moderate lift, it's just this shit that drives me nuts....

It's pretty hard to argue that a lowered car is going to flip another car, however when you've got a truck where the bumper sits at the same height as a driver's head in a regular car, you know things aren't going to end well in a crash. If you've got a car with 1000 horsepower, Awesome! Drive it wherever you like.

Can we also make the mega lifted trucks illegal too? You know those dude's aren't going off road and you can guarantee that they'll be decapitating people in a crash.

Only if you want it there.... HEYOOOOOOO

Check out http://www.japaneseclassicsllc.com/ They've had a number of equally nice Legal TT Soarers in the 10 - 12k range so CP on this one. The fact that it's legal in California means nothing to me as I'm in VT and their emissions standards are no where near as strict.

I want to punch it so bad!!! I want to punch the hair right off his face!

CP - Just because of the dude's infinitely punchable Face..

No sweat. Good luck with the purchase!

Those backwards opening doors looked about ready to fall off when he opened them. How's that for build quality yo?

Goddamn that car looks fucking dumb.

Viper Body panels are actually notoriously expensive. Pretty sure the hood runs at least 10k. Hand built will do that...

Awesome article!

The Joys of German vehicle ownership. I used to own a Jetta so I am well aware. Hope you've got a warranty and you sell that bad boy once it expires. One thing I will say is I really like VW, Audi, and BMW but I'm too much of a miser to deal with the maintenance that owning one requires. Subie for this guy!

Ha.... nope. While less reliable than a civic / corolla - go compare reliability of Subaru's to that of VW - that's where you can start talking about unreliability.

Winner Chicken Dinner!

wondering if we would call it shit-tastic if it was newer / more powerful. Maybe poo-tastic?

A guy at my highschool did just that back in 2000 - 2001 or so. It was a rad little trucklet for sure.

I'd rather get one of these with a GTI Engine swap than the old shit-tastic diesel.
