Um, no. Blackweirds (and Navi’s of the same generation) most definitely did NOT have the 3 valve engine, these had a DOHC version of the 2V 5.4 mod motor. Think “Cobra”. The 3 valve didn’t show up in the Navigator until the ‘05 model year.

Plan:
Listen. I know that some women do not age gracefully. But Virginia McCaskey (Bears) and Martha Ford (Lions) are definitely not men. Nor is Kim Pegula (Bills), Carol Davis (Raiders), Christina Lurie (Eagles), Darcie Kassewitz (Buccaneers) nor Amy Strunk (Titans).
Given to Oprah as majority owner, and let them rename the team the “Black Panthers.” It’s time to troll the ever-loving hell out of this league.
I’d still call it CP even if mechanically sound. It’s a truck that can’t do most truck things. Off-roading? Nope, 2WD. Dirty stuff in the bed? Nope, carpet and mirrors. Oversize stuff in the bed? Nope, permanent hard tonneau. Basically the only truck thing it’s actually capable of doing is towing a midsize trailer on…
In the words of a great African-American proverb, I got 5 on it.
Can’t take a test drive it the tires don’t roll...
You know the tires are an easy fix and they didn’t do that either
Am I the only one that’d rather have that S-10 in the background, or something closer to its size?
The A1 Jetta GLI was sold for only one model year in the US. And not very many of them. I would call that rare to start with.
They only made this generation Jetta *GLI* — an important difference — for a single year and it didn’t sell well. It was and is “rare” as hens teeth!
As others are likely going to say, this was indeed “rare”. While there were plenty of Jettas out there, not so many of this first generation in GLI trim.
“I can buy too many better cars for the same price.”
“it’s not exactly what I would call “rare.” It’s just that there aren’t many left anymore.”
There’s one in every NPOCP...
In my state, if it’s over 25 years old you can tag it as antique and no emissions testing.
Amazingly tidy. My first car was a 1983 GTI and seeing the LED “Christmas Tree” brings back (scary) memories. “How many of them will stay lit today?” “Do any of them mean I won’t make it to my girlfriends house?” NP
Welp, sorry to burst your bubble, but most of Eurrup is littered with shitty econoboxes. American muscle does add a bit to spice things up. Grass is always greener on the other side.
I don’t disagree, BUT if it had been sold in the US it totally would have pulled a ton of sales from the GTI like predicted.
I would argue that killing off an underpowered, impractical, two-door hatch, based on an outdated platform, that everybody clamoured for, but nobody bought, is just responsible management. Failing to address obvious shortfalls is the stuff that gets CEOs dismissed, so good on Herr VW Manager for saving his own skin.
