Uh, a multimeter is not weird or unique (see “Do you know of a weird or unique tool that wrenchers can benefit from knowing about” in your post above). It is pretty darn basic and is something that should be in every single person’s toolbox.

Also, no need to be so hyperbolic in your headlines.

Yeah I'm not sure you understand how statistics work. There's no data currently available that allows you to do a quantitative comparison of safety between the whole of miles driven vs. the miles driven by autonomous and partially autonomous vehicles. Beyond the sheer difference in sizes of these data sets, one is

Not only would the hard part (trans interior etc) engineering be ludicrously expensive and distracting for a completely new vehicle and architecture, but the govt would require a completely different set of crash and emission certification when there’s a manual. It’s a different car on the eyes on the Fed. Big big big

It is probably more like 99.5% and 0.5%, but you get the point. Humans are actually really damn good at the oddball things that we’ve never seen before and/or haven’t practiced regularly. Robots are not so good at this sort of thing.

LOL...where’s your objective data to support the idea that autonomous cars are arguably better than humans at driving?

This is tragic. I own a 15 Sportwagen TDI with a manual and it is SUCH a fantastic car. NOTHING changed after the emissions fix. It is an unreal highway cruiser. It is truly the last of a kind (diesel manual wagon) sold in the states.

It always blows my mind how much “crap” it can hold inside and still not feel like a

No where near practical yet. The idea of “I can do these drives but it would be nice to have autonomy to take over when I don’t want to pay attention on long runs” is the very reason autonomy will fail without PERFECT level 5. If you are expected to take over control, ever, then the idea of wanting it so that you can

It is so painful to me that we’re “fixing” the dangers of driving with computers rather than just educating drivers better, having mandatory continuing education, and retesting people every few years. A disproportionate number of traffic fatalities involve drivers who are young, and drivers who are elderly. If initial

In the version with two engines, he’s got a CVT on EACH engine which is insane if you are trying to drive one shaft with two tied together. He should tie them together with a chain and then run a CVT off of that jackshaft.

This guy is a madman and I love it.

That’s the dumbest shit I've ever read. How many people does gates directly and indirectly employ? How much $$ does his company bring into the country from abroad? A fucking lot. That's the answer and it's why he's welcome to have billions.

Good luck enforcing “moderately severe” as a subjective definition in court. What ultimately is the purpose of this is to prevent folks from storing junk and if he can show it is regularly used and in good shape, the HOA is boned.

I don’t hate Tesla vehicles. They are fantastic. I hate Elon Musk and his inability to shut the fuck up and stop sucking his own man parts.

Easy to tell which ones are used and which ones are for show. Is it all clean and organized? For show. Is it dirty/used/hacked a bit? It gets used. I am a vanlifer this winter skiing full time. There’s plenty of folks who are all show, and plenty who are all go and everything in between. It is a fun lifestyle....for a

Get another ranger! They are so cheap and so easy to fix. Bulletproof little trucks.

Rear garage door sacrifices precious wall space!

Jesus dude. This gives me anxiety. I vacuum my garage floor regularly. I go to the dump at least once a week to recycle my scrap metal, recycle plastic/paper, and throw out all other junk.

What does Wyatt have to say about clutchless shifting? I “float gears” all the time in my Golf SportWagen. It is smooth as butter up and down. No grinding, no lurching, nothing other than an easy change. Much easier than pressing the clutch every time! When I ride a motorcycle, I seldom use a clutch to shift.

Excellent work! The brakes looking like poo and broken sway bar link are REALLY common on Rangers. Awesome to know about that adjuster behind the MC. My ranger brakes have been spongy since new no matter what I have tried...this will be next!

LA is one hour to REAL mountains, next to great beaches, etc. Try again...
