There’s nothing rare about grizzlies in Alaska. They’re hunted legally as a part of the animal population control. Alaska Fish and Wildlife goes to great efforts to keep a sustainable predator/prey balance. Assuming her husband is a licensed hunter, he’s participating in a conservation effort as much as a sport.

That’s actually pretty cool. And if it was killed legally in Alaska, that means it was part of a well-maintained predator control program, which is always good.
