Honest question here... so where would someone like Reese Witherspoon be on this list?

Seconded. Valerian’s opener is so hopeful and optimistic. The fact that it starts out with ‘actual’ footage was what got a lump in my throat to begin with. It still stands out as one of the best moments of the year, much less totally beats out the market scene.

I wish he didn’t cut away so soon when it finally did happen, when it went lights-out. I was just about to panic-gasp at that moment when it played, but they cut away to a different shot. They could have stayed in that shot for a second or two, before cutting away.

I don’t know much about that subject matter. I hope it’s an origin story, like, how did that land get all icy?

I needed closure on that. Whew, she has next months rent covered.
