27% chance that you get that run in if you don’t send the guy (based on the numbers here: https://gregstoll.com/~gregstoll/baseball/runsperinning.html). So you’d need there to be an 73%+ chance that the guy throws you out from there to hold the runner. I’d say that throw out happens maybe 30% of the time.
You can question that send if you want, but statistically it’s the right move. Beautiful play and throw to get him. Good baseball all around.
I love this. I’ll be sad when it’s gone, but that’s way better than feeling sad that it’s dragging on way past it’s expiration date.
This post led me to this video, and for that I am grateful:
This is very respectful beef.
I think the feeling is that if you build up the threat of the white walkers as the greatest threat in the whole world and then they aren’t able to kill a single important character, then the audience feels a bit misled. It’s not about deaths to shock the audience, but rather deaths that support the narrative that’s…
Totally agree with this. The benefits of increased divisional rivalries and having someone come out as an actual division champ is great! Guarantees fun series matchups by the second round, which was not true of the conference format.

I send this gif as a reply to every dumb congratulatory reply all chain for my work team. I’m sure everyone hates it, but it keeps me entertained.

I thought that seemed off as well. Maybe because they were playing as a fivesome?
Catchers turn around to make the catch because the spin on a pop up makes it tail toward second base. It’s way easier to catch with the ball tailing toward you.
This can’t be a serious question.
