Well, trying to make one, anyway, bless their hearts.

I am here for this, comrade Caps fan.

Yeah, I had no expectations (not low expectations, no expectations!) walking into an advanced screening with my kids, and we were all pleasantly surprised at how much fun this movie was, especially given what we’d seen from DC prior to this

Own the libs up front!

I always put Larry Flynt and Al Goldstein together in my mental list of First Amendment-defending, thumbing-their-nose-at-America’s-prudes (and obviously very flawed) anti-heroes. May they rest in peace, and in filth!

How is it possible Emily Hampshire is a your/you’re person???!!!? Damn it! (And I sincerely wish this didn’t bother me as much as it does!)

That’s an amazing detail, thank you for it.

As an American, this hurts, too.

I’ve been wondering about this very thing, outdoor music festivals optimistically anticipating enough of a decline in COVID numbers to be permitted in a late summer timeframe.

Slightly off topic, but certainly related: I’ve always had a sweet tooth and a particular fondness for candy bars, ever since my childhood in the 70s. I wonder sometimes what it would be like to put, say, a Baby Ruth bar from 1983 next to a Baby Ruth bar of today, and compare their size and shape and taste. (Not

I LOVE oatmeal scotchies. I’ve always used the lazy method of simply following the recipe on the butterscotch chip bag, and it’s always been great.

I will note that even though I used the wrong name for them, the point stands that I did understand immediately which subdivisions of Canada the author meant in her statement.

Thank you both for correcting my very stupid and very obvious mistake that all of the subdivisions of Canada are not in fact provinces. I am truly and deeply ashamed.

For what it’s worth, this American right here understood immediately that you meant the entire southern rank of Canadian provinces, or in other words none of the northern rank of Canadian provinces. Maybe because I’m a big map person, and that’s how the Canadian provinces have always looked to me (even more so after

You got red on you.

Thanks!!

Thanks so much!

Dumb question: can anybody identify the fucking awesome song playing in that trailer???

My lame-ass Hugh Jackman story: he MC’d a big corporate I attended some years ago — around the time of this Oscars appearance, I think, when his stardom was starting to peak — and as part of his intro, he did a riff on “Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’” that I think included some modified lyrics specific to our company.

I fought the urge to see this in one of the few movie theaters that was open within a few hours of my house, and I’m glad I did. My assumption is that when theaters here reopen, a movie this significant (and presumably worth seeing on the big screen) may be re-released, at least for a short time. In the meantime, I’ll
