Still rich? Check.
Still able to say what he wants? Check.
Still able to buy a race team/seat after the invasion of Ukraine is done? Check.
Oh yea, so cancelled.

Maldonado won a Grand Prix. Maxspin never scored a point.
Geez I get so f’ing tired of people using buzz words to act like they are being mistreated.
‘Cancel Culture’ in terms of invading another country and killing everyone is sight because you want to.
I get that new concepts and words can be hard. The singular “they” in English only goes back to the 14th century
Look up the Tiny Friendly Giant in the Koenigsegg Gemera. 600 HP out of a 3 cylinder, 2 liter, twin turbo with no camshaft is truly impressive and add on the extra power from the electric parts and it’s damn fast for any car much less a 4-seater.
The whole used car market situation blew up my plan to get a heavily depreciated S63 Cabrio for 50-60% of sticker after 2-3 years like you could a couple years back. Without a proper 4-seat convertible purchases like this are now on hold until the kids can drive themselves. And the market settles.
This is the SL though, not the SLK (or whatever their smaller sports car is called now). According to Car and Driver, the last SL started at around $92 k. So certainly in the ballpark as the 911. And when you factor in whatever AMG badging this has, and why, I bet this is around the same price as a 911 Cab.
Unless this guy is doing 2 week trips to the beach on an ongoing basis, he doesn’t need a minivan for 2 kids and a dog.
a minivan is leaps and bounds beyond any 3 row crossover in terms of room, cargo capacity, ease of use, etc.
If you already have a 3 row crossover, why do you need a minivan?
I thought I didn’t need any more car than a Honda Fit. Great little car.
0-62 in 4.9s from 380 hp? That seems... well, not slow, but not as quick as one would expect? E.g. a Golf R can beat that with quite a bit less power?
Well it’s certainly a nice car. And a non-grey-scale Mercedes is a sight to behold. But I’m not sure I’d say it’s perfect. Maybe a really good GT car? And even at that, am I taking this over a 911?
Not all rare things are valuable. This is one of those things. It’s so rare, in fact, that virtually nobody knew they existed, and now that everybody does nobody cares that they didn’t know. No dice.
Every multi-national, multi-billion dollar company gets govt money one way or the other, so I’m not sure exactly what your point is...
I saw the piece. Which is probably why Erin used it today. My neph is paid hourly, so he’s making money 24hrs a day until the job is done.
Check their public filings and you’ll know pretty quick. Or check the governmental records. That’s the benefit of open records laws.
I ran for Halliburton for 2 years on a frac crew. There was never any govt contracts. The work was damn hard at times though, but I made 80k a year. 2 weeks on 2 weeks off. I had a class a cdl with doubles, triples, tanker and haz endorsements.
The weird thing is how little it would cost a load to just pay the truckers what they’re worth, it’s not that much compared to all the other costs involved, but it’s easier to cheapskate, scapegoat, and then suggest we pull a McDonalds and lowball it further to let kids who can’t even be trusted with alcohol drive a…
