This. Automotive Designers DO spend an inordinate amount of time fretting details like this, but Engineering usually buzzkills any interesting proposals. I used to worked with stylists in those clay studios and was alternately wowed and horrified at how every little fraction of a mm was obsessed over. My recollection

5th Gear:  THANK YOU for your service!

Just a thought, but could the reason for qualifying STI separately from Subaru be as a stepping stone to future WRX and STi’s?  There was a rumor awhile back that those new models were going to be on a unique chassis, NOT the Impreza.

Neutral:  thanks, will do.  I realized over the weekend that my tires were more worn than I had thought, and have an appt for new ones today.  I appreciate your concern.

Neutral: the purchase price needs to come down. For an electric commuter car I want to be out the door for under $30k. Yes, there are a couple options at or near that but I’d like there to be a dozen to choose from. Most everything - including the Mach E - seems priced way too high for most folks.

I’m struggling to form an opinion about this: there’s elements I like and elements I hate. But I think the pricing is about $7-$10k high across the board. This seems to be targeted at folks who love Tesla, but then this pricing isn’t really any better than Model 3 (or Y?) so then what’s the incentive to buy Ford over

Totally agree, but “nimble and easy to park” just isn’t a purchasing criteria for most people.

Just this past month Long Beach, CA went the other way: had separate dealerships a block apart for Mini and BMW but now they have combined them at the BMW site.

Is this Radwood-eligible? Might make the difference between CP and NP.

I remember Ford advertising that ‘feature’, claiming that it matched the nose shape of the space shuttle.

Color is wrong, too..... pretty sure that’s “Atlas Gray” and not Basalt Black.  Atlas Gray FTW!

Neutral: 200 miles is my number. I’d probably be fine with ~150 but with the anxiety factor I’d be most comfortable with 200+. I’ve got a garage to charge overnite in and a gas-powered car for longer trips, so charging speed is NOT a concern for me. My usage would be 60 miles round-trip to work with the occassional

Another point of comparison, I just bought a 2010 BMW 128i Coupe for that same $13,500. Sounds high for nearly 10 years old car but it was well-maintained and relatively pristine with just 38k miles on it. Also a great driver’s car: similar hp but a lot heavier, kinda sorta feels like a ‘vert with the windows down and

So did the AMG-lite (45) version go away?

Have your star for the obscure SK reference!

I really enjoyed this take - thank you.

I forget.... is Duggan’s the place that has a menu special of two hamburgers and a bottle of champagne for $100?

I’ve got 2:

Nedes mor starz!

One of those things is not like the others...
