Personally, I never understood why the Watchers didn't pay the Slayer so she didn't have to have a dead end job at the Double Meat Palace. They paid Giles! And they gave him back pay for the years he wasn't working for them!

Yes, I've heard it too. Like I said, I was just curious about the scope of the study.

3rd wavers are generally more pro-sex and pro-pornography.

Thank you so much for sharing the questions!

Did this study only look at childhood sex abuse? Or sexual abuse across the spectrum of their lives? I don't subscribe to the damaged goods theory myself. I'm just curious, because I'm aware that there are some porn stars who have been public about having been raped (outside the industry).

Depends on who you ask. I never have considered them part of my feminist canon, but I know that there are feminists here who do value them. And of course, lots of anti-feminists love pointing to those two as representative of 'mainstream' feminism.

I still can't believe we never ran into each other.

I don't know. I've seen the soccer uniforms, which would work probably fine as derby uniforms. I was hoping someone better educated than me on the matter would weigh in.

I won't lie. I was more attracted to the altercation part than the skating part. But leagues do train skaters. Check out local leagues to see when their training camps are — we could never fill so many teams if we relied solely on people who already knew how to skate at that level.

Wow. That is a lot of outrage for nothing. 1) I never said derby invented body conscious 2) most uniforms are leggings with a tank top, especially in the nationally competitive leagues 3) boner points, really? PS. Check the photo at the banner — that's what most skaters wear. Not micro minis and fishnets.

It took some times and distance, but I really, really love season 6. I think its dark and challenging, and it wrestles with a lot of big questions.

We teach a lot of women how to skate. If you're really interested, see if your local league is holding any workshops.

Respect for skaters injured in the game is pretty much built into the game. Its a rough sport and people do get seriously injured, and all of us are aware of how devastating that can be after all you do just to get to play.

I was thinking about the potential problems with head scarves kind of specifically. You don't want any fabric that could get caught in wheels or in the pads of other players. Maybe it wouldn't be necessary because the helmet covers the head? (Muslim commenters, please enlighten me on this bit.)

I've often wondered how the sport could spread into more conservative countries. Aside from the whole women-banging-into-other-women angle, our uniforms tend to be rather body conscious by necessity.

I think its readily apparent that its the same model in the 'White' ad, where her Caucasian features are more easily distinguishable.

"Great job taking something out of context, Jezebel."

Feel free to suggest it as a feature.

You think having unpaid volunteers getting up in the middle of the night and checking the threads on the off chance a spammer posts something that is easily dealt with during the working day is a reasonable example of 'customer service'?

BEST DAY EVER.
