That makes sense. I agree with the reading rather than skimming perspective. I find when I really want to take a deep dive for comprehension and memory that physically making notes makes a difference in both areas. Typing out notes doesn’t fire the same brain cells.

Just out of curiosity, do you have comprehension problems when you read on the phone? A screen is a screen to me. There might be a difference reading from paper to screen.
