I hate to say it, but if he needs a friend to help him put 4 bolts into the floor of the car to secure the seat, it will be anything but enjoyable or fun.

Just washed!
Needs round wheel arches to finish it off.
I can’t stand even moving the car in the driveway with them on. Any kind of driving further than 50 ft, I put on a pair of sneakers (usually Adidas Sambas or similar with a flat bottom is what I prefer to drive in).
My dad has a 05 X3 with a manual. I am not a huge fan ... to me a 5 series wagon is far better in every way.
As a concept I love it, but I think they overdid it with the door panels/tailgate etc. It just screams “we found our waterjet and someone finally figured out how to use it”.
It’s nicer than most cars you find at 5k. And the fact that it has 209k miles and still looks like it does tells me it was looked after extremely well.
Trolley buses that ran off an electric grid have been around for ages ... your concept just embeds the power grid into the road ... so nothing really new as far as the concept itself goes.
Totally agreed. I wouldn’t touch it either, I was just suggesting a more sane swap than an LS.
Perfect for an NA EJ swap out of a 90s Legacy or Impreza (EJ25 or what I’d actually do is EJ22 since those didn’t suffer head gasket issues etc).
This. Exactly this. A little too far for me to go for a car I don’t necessarily need, but it ticks all the boxes for me.
I’m sorry, but I still don’t see a point in this.
There’s a way to do it if they wanted to (but they don’t ... because nobody wants a manual): just run the clutch hydraulics through the ABS system. The same way the system can apply the brakes without driver input is how it could also pump fluid to the slave cylinder and disengage the clutch until it sees a signal…
2500 maybe ...
I’m sure Getrag was design responsible as the transmission experts, however that doesn’t mean they just get a blank check and do whatever they want to. Toyota still supplied the specs/parameters they wanted to stick to and supervised/approved the design process the entire time ... so I’d say “shared development” still…
Correct, but the lines were in fact messed with because of the engine swap to begin with ... so yes, engine is to blame.
It is brilliant. No need to drive (or even Uber) if the pub can just come pick you up. lol
Yeah, but your phone with a 7" screen costs a 1000 dollars on it’s own. Meanwhile you want a screen as good in a car that’s supposed to cost 30,000, and do things that cars do: be safe, comfortable, quiet ... actually drive ... something has to give, otherwise all cars would cost 100k.
This. The m60 from the 540/740/840 is a better motor in every possible way and you’re not really losing much in terms of performance either.
I think they should expand their venture to include their partner from the other sports car and just stick a 4-cylinder turbo BMW motor in it ...
