I heard a great interview with him once, talking about his need to do things right. A customer comes along and waves a million at him. Then he gets 4000 man hours into the build and finds himself thinking ‘fuck, where can I get another million to complete this build’.

Thats J ward's real talent. Getting rich guys to drop 6-figure checks on cars barely driveable.

Z3 isn’t bad. Think it was the last Bimmer with near majority manual sales. Properly small for a roadster, though a bit chonky on the scales. Also gave us the greatest BMW commercial of all time, by far. Part of why I am certain BMW has lost it’s way is that there’s no way I can picture today’s BMW putting out this as:
