I can easily see where they’d replace the new ranger with this vehicle.
Small utility trailers are the tool for this.

BMW tried this with the i3's range extender. The only thing I can assume is that there’s energy math that doesn’t work out when you do this, as pretty much every other hybrid is a parallel hybrid, where the engine helps from time to time instead of a series hybrid, where the engine only charges a battery.
