Ahhh, therapy...

I just got back from a cat shelter. I have depression and somebody recommended going there and hanging out with kittehs. It works.

*Linda Belcher voice* CAT GIFS ALL RIIIIGHT!

Aw, thanks!

Came here to post this. Not disappointed

Cat gif thread (It’s for our own well-being)!

This. It’s also worth noting that it’s possible to be fully vaccinated against measles and have your immune system not cooperate with the vaccine, leaving you unprotected against exposure.

How dare you bring reasonable concerns about cancer into this when the special snowflakes in my life are at risk of toxins.

Worth noting that the woman who died WAS vaccinated against measles. I don’t know what this means about the efficacy of the vaccine, but I think it underscores the importance of group immunity: even if you are vaccinated, should you be exposed to measles while already compromised by another illness ... you could die.

I know they’ll interpret the tide of resistance as being silenced and marginalized and just dig in their heels more.

Silver lining of progress: a comments thread on an article like this 5 years ago would have been littered with people defending and promoting anti-vax idiocy. Its refreshing to click through it now and see universal scorn from Jezebel readers. The anti-vaxxers at least realize that they can’t win on a forum like this

They don’t care. There was some anti-monsanto demonstration a few months back and an anti vaxxer was dragged away from counter protesters yelling “My child is more important than you!”

I know you’re joking, but it’s worth noting that she was actually vaccinated, but in her immunocompromised state, she was no match for the unvaccinated kid who made her sick.

AT LEAST SHE WASN’T AUTISTIC... EVEN DEATH IS BETTER THAN THAT!

Yeah, it’s incredibly ableist and offensive. My mom and sister both work with autistic kids, and they love their students and take great joy in their accomplishments.

They can put that on Jim’s tombstone

Congratulations, anti-vaxxers. You did it! You saved her from autism!
