This is generally a good thing because putting the shifter in the centre console for an automatic is mostly a waste of space, buuuuuut...

Column shifters make me think a junk cars that I never wanted to be in. Not sure that is a good thing. The only “cool” column shift car (well truck) I was ever in was an older Chevy truck (maybe Ford, I forget) with a three on the tree and wheel well vents.
