Hmm, in the promo video I didn’t see it tackling any terrain that couldn’t be traversed in, say, a Chevy Cavalier. I get what they’re after, but it would be nice to see what the limits of mobility are for it. This looks like the ‘poor man’s Pinzgauer’.

Exactly. Those adapters should be outlawed. Not only do they give people a false sense of confidence (“see! now I have a 2" receiver!”), but they multiply the moment exerted on the hitch mount points from the tongue weight of the trailer.
