I think what happens to Marian will depend on what they want to do with the Russell children. Either Larry will end up with Marian and give his family the old money recognition that Bertha wants, or Gladys ends up with the Duke, which would probably be the more appealing outcome for Bertha. But all things considered

She would almost definitely have her own money. Either funds that were set aside for her in her late husband’s will, inheritance from her own parents (the real Mrs. Astor was less reliant on her husband for this exact reason), or potentially something in her original dowry. But it’s unlikely that an old money family

She should have won her second Oscar for Jackie. I love Emma Stone, but La La Land is dreck and other than that one scene at the very end she doesn’t stand out compared to Portman or any of the other nominees that year.

The first season of this show was fantastic and on a recent rewatch really held up. Just a perfect combo of pulpy drama with a very strong cast and writers that seemed to not take it all too seriously. But it really started falling to pieces not far in to the second season and was barely watchable in the third even

And speaking of the Downton similarities they seem to be setting up a retelling of the Cora/Earl Crawley story with Gladys and the Duke. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out in an upcoming episode that he is very much broke and Bertha would be all too happy to assist in order to make her daughter a Duchess. Honestly it

I also loved how dramatic the music was as the soup made it’s way to the Duke! The tension almost reminded me of the scene where the Titanic hits the iceberg in the film, but with....soup. There is definitely a camp aspect to the show that adds to the entertainment while also being well balanced.

House of Gucci is a mess, mostly because all the leads are performing for totally different films, but it’s thoroughly entertaining. I feel like a shorter version the solely focused on Lady Gaga’s character would have been much more successful because despite a weird accent (that’s consistent, at least, so you get

I always felt a little bad for him that despite all he contributed to A Star is Born he didn’t individually win any major awards for it.

This is a great point. I’m a Marvel fan. I’m caught up on all the films and tv series (minus Loki, but will get there soon) and I had no interest in going to the theaters to see this, especially after the poor reviews. And I actually really liked the first film and loved the two series the other Marvels come from. But

Oh god. Rent. That film is an embarrassment. I love the show (though I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea), but they failed so miserably in the adaptation that it’s almost impressive. While I understand why the wanted to use the majority of the original cast they were all too old to be playing early 20s by the time

RIP Jezebel and godspeed to the writers and staff. Ever since they shut down Splinter and turned off comments on Deadspin/The Root I knew it was only a matter of time until they took out Jez.

If you were genuinely Crystal Jewell then thank you for some of the most deranged laughs I’ve gotten on the internet.

Same here. Over a decade of commenting and it’s a gut punch that it’s all gone in the blink of an eye.

they didn’t put any of the mean girls musical songs in the trailer because they’re all bad hope this helps

I saw the original cast on Broadway on Mean Girls Day. Tina Fey introduced the show at the beginning and everyone in the audience was in pink. It was a super fabulous evening in the theater. Is it a great show? Not at all, but it’s very fun show with some great songs, though your mileage may vary depending on how much

Unfortunately the law that was passed in Kentucky included a provision that the replacement the governor appoints would have to come from a list of candidates that the Republicans put together.

It’s already happening:

I’m old enough to remember the polling that showed there would be a red wave ahead of the 2022 midterms.

So a sketch of Ivanka?

He and his wife look straight out of the Prime docu-series Shiny Happy People about the Duggar cultists.
