We’re not asking for sympathy, but the idea that the thing I’ve worked to create over the past 4 years to earn a living doing what I love is somehow less of a real job than some guy who goes and sits in an office for 8 hours a day is intrinsically stupid to me.

What has providing better content got to do with it? There’s plenty of people producing fantastic content who still can’t make it professionally. Ads are ads irrespective of what you put out, and 99.9999999999999999% of Youtubers aren’t making hundreds of thousands...

I refuse to believe that no one noticed the possible branding problem with the name Youtube Red when Redtube already exists.

And for the record— there are plenty of sites that I leave AdBlock off. These are the sites that don’t do any of the above.

Ads on the internet are a large source of how people get infected by malicious attacks. When you visit a site like Kotaku, ads are not controlled by Gawker, but a 3rd party that Gawker contracts to handle ads. That 3rd party is responsible to make sure that the ads are free of malicious attacks but occasionally some

The internet fired the first shot, by making us so wary of online ads (throughs pop ups, autoplays, sounds, epilepsy inducing light effects, etc.) that no one even wants to give the new round of ads a chance.

Yeah, I tend to prefer when the actual comics don’t resemble Scott Kurtz’ seminal Batman story, Batman: My Parents Are Dead.

I would never suggest that writers shouldn’t play around with Batman and Bruce Wayne, especially since it’s been through some pretty crazy experimentation that we got stories like Dark Knight Returns, etc. However, I never much cared for the fascist Batman or still-grieving Bruce Wayne. I always wanted to believe his

Don’t sweat the difficulties, Albert. If we know one thing about gamers, it’s that they’re not particularly hypersensitive to any sort of direct or even indirect criticism about their hobby.

This is a good Tweet.

I don’t know about anyone else, but the fact they claimed to give console quality gaming from the outset I’d say is fundamentally what they did wrong. If you put your console games on a portable you end up with a handicapped game. They needed to take a different angle.

THIS. I hope the higher ups in Sony are reading this.

The problem is that there are thousands of naive young programmers fresh out of school willing to do the job for peanuts, and higher-ups know it. The second someone shows signs of being unwilling to work those inhuman hours, they’re out on their ass.

But they don’t have a union and things will never change till they do. Voice work may be comparatively easy but no matter how pretty your game is it can still be come a joke if the voice work is terrible i.e. Destiny. The industry isn’t going to magically wake up one day and treat their employees better. Unions exist

Yeah, if anything it’s a very clear example of why devs should be unionized. Without protections in place their employers abuse them.

And now i can’t get the image of Ocelot in bikini and fishnets out of my head... thanks...

pfft Q-dog got that idea from d-horse...

The reason you are ashamed is because you put Q-dog in a bikini top and fishnets.

Nope, not me. I’m not one of those people who equate a game’s length with its value. Most games when I finish, I have no idea how long it took, and I don’t much care. Was the game good? Worth the money. These days it’s relatively easy to recoup most of what you paid for a game if you don’t like it or finish it too
