Man I’d love to know when Design Lab is back; Mike - you don’t happen to know of anyone’s tree to shake at Microsoft, see if we can’t find out more accurately when it’s coming back?

Genuinely can’t bring myself to hate it.

XK8 Convertible. So unfortunately I also have to remove the convertible top at the back of the car to be able to get a saw in the right angle to cut cleanly. One guy on the Jaguar forums used a hole saw and then put a nautical inspection hatch (like the one below) to cover the hole back up again.

Replacing the goddamned fuel pump, a task so onerous on my car that some folks just take a cutting disc (or holesaw) to the parcel shelf rather than deal with getting the fucking tank out.

Good grief. I’d never have expected that from Toyota; I know you’re stuck into buying a whole set of coils with the MB V12 but any similarity between a European 12-cylinder and a Toyota engine at all is kinda shocking.

oh and the second screenshot is just a failed ignition coil, all that shit for a single coil. <sigh>

It’s a 2000 Jaguar XK8, and at the time I was due to drive ~9 hours home. A fun story in retrospect but it was pretty terrifying at the time!

A generic Bluetooth OBD-II reader and a copy of Torque.
Here’s my high score!

“Is it any good? It looks cool”

crucial sanrio characters are missing tho

“...and ensure all customer settings remain intact for radio, seats, temperature control, etc.”

Where do we set the over/under for weight?
I’m guessing 6,000lbs

re: Reverse -

I know it’s not exactly how we’d prefer this car but it’s so pretty I’d still be stoked to see it in EV form:

As a high school kid in rural Australia I had the opportunity to pick up a Troopy (1979 Land Cruiser HJ45 long wheelbase “Troop Carrier”).
Tragically uncool back then but a well sorted one of these is worth some coin these days - and while I can’t speak for its mechanical condition it wouldn’t have had a spot of rust
