puts on call of duty. shoots. gets shot. gets bored and turn off the game.

I guess people are still buying this in large enough quantities to justify this continued investment? I am just so (pleasantly!) surprised that they’re able to justify continuing to work on this game without any form of microtransactions or paid updates whatsoever.

Yeah, it definitely isn’t concerning when you bring that up completely unprompted.

In 2019 the movie industry made $41 billion and the music industry made $19 billion.
Video games made $152 billion.

Couldn’t agree more. These morons made a list of shit to bitch about passed it around the table like an amateur youtube channel that shits on things. Kotaku was always pretty meh but recently jesus christ, anything for the clicks right guys?

So, I must fall into that “Polish hills” category despite being aware they’re a publicly traded company. I see.

Same - I think it’s just a byproduct of the kind of bubble you live in when you work in games journalism. Of course it’s oversaturated for these guys. For me, as a reasonably well adjusted person who doesn’t live on Gaming Twitter, it’s just an upcoming game I’d like to play and it’s finally coming out soon, so that’s

No one I game with is talking about this, outside the random casual mention that “Cyberpunk launches in December”... which is immediately followed up by the Jim from the Office “Sure, if you say so” GIF because of the multiple delays.

I feel the same? Like I know people are excited but I haven’t felt that this is ALL anyone is talking about, any moreso than other long awaited AAA releases.

I honestly wasn’t aware that this game was teetering into “overhype” territory until I saw this article and the one in Polygon today. I only preordered it last month after I realized I wanted something brand new to play on the Series X(even though it’s not made for it specifically). I also was into Witcher, so the dev

Gonna be honest, I didn’t even know it was still a thing.

translucent black would be cool.

I think it would’ve looked better had the cases been black:

Man are people this tech-addicted that they need to use their phone during a loading screen

Tried to do a different image, but I used a movie background and realized my mistake after I posted it. I have made a new image!

I blame Square’s focus on style over substance squarely ;D on Tetsuya Nomura. Just look at Kingdom Hearts.

Mario invites Tom Nook to his hunting lodge for wine... :)

I enjoyed Fallout76 by playing it solo and wholly ignoring raids/endgame content. Once I’d done the quests and sidequests, I was out. Instantly. I enjoyed it and if they add a robust new set of missions, I’ll likely go back in.

Oh, I should mention I bought fallout 1st so i could just have a lobby to myself, then

FO76 isn’t an MMO. The server has a 24 player limit and you only see other players at POIs. The rest of the game is basically instanced. It’s definitely an online multiplayer game (it’s clearly designed and balanced around that) but it’s not Massively Multiplayer in any sense.

I legitimately don’t even understand the appeal. “Hey guys, I hacked the best stuff into my inventory so I don’t even need to play anymore. I beat the game without trying!!”
