Ironically, you can drive a Model S 400+ miles on a charge right now. You would just need to keep it under 50mph or so.
You can get 400 miles now. You just have to drive around 40 -50mph.
The vehicles have very expensive sensors/lidar on them. They are not cost feasible.

I believe you are comparing when routes and prices were regulated to current rates. Back then, prices were regulated, and more expensive, but flying was also enjoyable. The seats were not these tiny little back breakers.
Right now, we are paying non competitive rates and have small seats.

Jalopnik needs to do an article on Airline Collusion. They have effective non-compete agreements, which means there isn’t competition.
