@F1Mørgan: Flatten the picture plane, clone some of the figures, apply a keyhole shade over it, collect $400,000!

@Peter F. Masterton: You can either do the basic physics and math, or just Google for pictures of solar powered race cars, to realize the sunlight landing on any normal car is insufficient to power it. At best the solar cells can trickle charge an accessory battery or run the AC (as with the solar-cell Prius roof

@Madcows: I'm confused, if you think electric motors are the future, then what is going to supply energy to them if not batteries?

@gtuned: To me something like the Shelby SuperCars Aero SSC is "barely in production". 1,000 sports cars is a small production run, more than say the Lotus Exige (but less than 20,000 Elises since 1995).

@Everything I love is 2nd best: Obviously the sun drives the climate, including the greenhouse effect that makes the earth a lot warmer than the atmosphere-less moon. But the solar cycle is an 11-year cycle! The current 0.6°C higher global temp compared with 1950-1980 averages (<a href=" [data.giss.nasa.gov]"see

@Madcows: Calling everyone who disagrees with your opinions and has $109,000 to spend on a unique sports car a "sucker" is not arguing. Did you read the favorable review of living with a Tesla Roadster in Automobile magazine by Jason Cammisa?

@WopOnTour: At the end of most car leases you are given the option to purchase the car. GM was within their rights to repossess and crush the cars, but please show me where they told lessors that that was what they would do, or cite some evidence where they disclosed in advance this plan.

@jpech: More accurately, suppliers XTrac and Magna International couldn't make a two-speed transmission to Tesla's standards. Borg Warner makes the current single-speed transmission; Tesla had to increase their motor's max RPM to 14,000 to preserve the 125 mph top speed they had promised.

4,162 lb (4,400 for this convertible) vs. a 2,513 lb 3-seater made 18 years ago. The Veyron is a stupendous achievement by its numbers, but far from uncompromising purity.

@BobFraggle: Try to hear a ribbon tweeter as well. The Magnepan MG 3.6 panel speakers have ribbon tweeters for about $5000, with a completely different soundstage to a box speaker. Cymbals sound real to me on mine. Magnepan also have quasi-ribbon panel speakers, like the 1.7 for $2000.

Ehh, people were looping the tunnel at the end of the Super Stunt track of Race Drivin' back in 1990. Atari!

@1000songs: You didn't mention fossil fuel production and distribution and it's difficult to get solid information on them from oil companies. Some people claim if you took the electricity needed just to produce-refine-distribute a gallon of gasoline and recharged a battery instead, you'd travel further.

@Number_Six: In the 1989 generation Honda smoothed out the greenhouse and lowered the hood to suit the low headlights, and the RT 4WD mini-wagon version is particularly special. But I still prefer the 1984 Civic with the long deck roof, particularly the two-tone 1500S. That's mine.

@somnambulance: In November I updated the ENVI Wikipedia article:
