I prefer the Fiorino 599 GTB, in red of course.

It's great to hear GM is looking for better aerodynamics, it's a vital part of overall efficiency. Shame they ended the collaboration with AeroVironment that produced the EV1, the most aerodynamic car in the world 10 years ago. GM could have been steadily refining the tech all this time instead of rushing to produce

Is our Loverman the same as loverman@vkool.com? He had the most amazing intro on the Web around 1998 (remember "Skip Intro" buttons?) at www.vkool.com/loverman. A poem "Annabel Chong, where are you?" (Wikipedia her) appeared, linked to some trippy science fiction imagery, which linked to "The Six Million Dollar

The idea that those stupid climate scientists overlook something basic like water vapor or solar cycles or whatever is ridiculous claptrap from deniers.

@TrackpediaCow: Sure, water vapor contributes to the greenhouse effect. All kinds of things do, otherwise the climate on earth would be many degrees colder. We're extraordinarily privileged to live on a planet with an atmosphere that makes it bearable.

@rgseidl, akirachan: Maybe this is more efficient than burning CNG in the car because a fuel cell-> electric motor is so much more efficient than internal combustion? As the Home Energy Station uses the heat from the process to heat your home (and supposedly even makes electricity) the overall efficiency goes up.

@biminitwst: RTFPicture Labels), "Mag lev electro magnets mounted in the wheel rim and the [off centre] hub allow all the major propulsion system components to be mounted in the wheel assembly". Leaving out the center of the wheel reduces weight; this fantasy also uses the rim itself as part of a linear motor,

Why does this upset people? How is it a scam? From the FAQ at [terrapass.com] : TerraPass funds go directly to carbon-reducing energy projects across the US. Every purchase we make is third-party verified to be accurate and measurable. So the carbon dioxide created by your driving is "removed" from the atmosphere by

Don't forget the Maserati MC12 derivative of the Enzo Ferrari that begat the MC12 Corsa. Indeed, where will it end?

@GoatBoy: For the hundredth time, the nickel in NiMH batteries in a Prius is valuable, Toyota recycles the batteries. Even if they didn't, NiMH is not toxic NiCad.

@Colonel35: Wikipedia has a list as you might expect, not sure how trustworthy:

"Audis are mainly built for German cement salesmen." So that's what vorsprung durch technik means!

[www.fueleconomy.gov] says Ford Escape Hybrid 2WD is 34 City / 30 Highway (2008 figures). So the Escape is way better in city than the Vue hybrid, and slightly worse on highway. The Escape Hybrid AWD (29 / 27) is still the most fuel-efficient AWD car or SUV.

@ranwhenparked: Ahh-nold's Hydrogen Highway will be there, sort of:

@Lawbot: True but so many cars look like the RX-8, either the nose, or the headlights or the front fenders.

@starlightmica: That's exactly what the Japanese Girasole electric car does, and Spinelli blogged about it just a few months ago: They, too, were so worried about their new car's lack of decibels that they put a speaker in the front and t has the soundtrack of hoofbeats blaring out as it whispers its way to the top

No one mentioned the Lamborghini Espada. Only two doors, but a genuine four seater Lambo. In 1968 it made the E-type look old fashioned.

@langba: There are benefits in continuing to drive an old vehicle, but you're wrong about hybrid batteries and landfills. Toyota does recycle the NiMH batteries, the nickel is valuable.

@mytdawg: Your generalizations are worthless crap. Tomorrow you'll be complaining that some environmentalists want windmills while others fear for birds, some want nukulear while others don't, etc. Narrow focus my ass.
