Guessing someone’s password is exploiting someone’s bad judgement in choosing a password, not exploiting a system’s weakness. By your definition, if someone leaves their car keys in the ignition, I “hacked” their car when I steal it. I didn’t exploit a weakness in the car. The owner was just dumb.

Depends on who you’re talking to. A lot of hackers would disagree with you.

Hacking implies they went into the code and accessed a vulnerability. Guessing a password - even though a brute force program, isn’t really hacking. Anyone who has access to the program and the user’s email address can do it.

Hacking implies they went into the underlying code and got in through a backdoor. That didn’t happened. They basically just walked right in the unlocked front door.

Password phishing. Basically brute forcing millions of password guesses until it gets in. Two factor authentication would have prevented that.

They weren’t hacked. They chose not to use the security measures that Apple provided them, including two factor authentication.

I don’t care if Google uses my data to show targeted ads. I know Google has no ill intent with my data. What I do care about is the fact that when the government comes asking for bulk data collection, Google is required to hand it over. They can’t do that if they don’t have it.

If you leave your front door unlocked and someone walks in and steals your stuff, do you blame the lock maker for not making a good enough lock?

Except that’s not what happened. Those celebrities were idiots who didn’t use two factor authentication. Their accounts weren’t “hacked”. Their passwords were randomly guessed through a phishing program. That’s exactly what two factor auth is designed to prevent. If you choose not to use it, that’s your fault.

So, you have proof they are, or is this just another, “I don’t like Apple, so of course they’re lying”.

This is probably in response to those annoying invisible ads that redirect you to the app store.

Hahaha. Don’t like getting called out on bullshit, do you.

So no real argument or facts from you. Got it.

Nope. Can you provide specific examples of any Apple exec constantly (as you put it) complaining about it unprovoked? The last time Jony Ive mentioned it was in an interview where the interviewer directly asked him about Xiaomi, which is well known for directly copying just about everything Apple does. There’s a

“Yes it is”

The only time they mention it is when some interviewer directly asks them about it. Then they give some default PR answer. They really don’t make a big deal about it. Definitely not as much as people like you seem to believe.

Now playing

I cringe every time I hear/see a commercial for ITT or DeVry or any other bullshit for profit school. You’re better off doing an apprenticeship as an electrician or plumber and skipping the school.

Except they don’t constantly complain about it. Steve Jobs was the only one constantly bitching about it and he’s been gone for years.

Considering I’ve sold a couple Macs before, yeah, they hold up. Much better than any other computer I’ve ever had.

And their resale value is ridiculously good, so you still get a lot of that money back when it’s time for a new one.
