She is a proud graduate of the Stetson University College of Law, in Gulfport, FL. According to US News it’s ranked 103 in the country, which isn’t bad actually, given how many law schools America has, and Florida has a fairly notoriously difficult bar exam, to keep out interlopers who want to retire to FL but still

Pam Bondi: “I was defending the constitution”

Her attempts to elide the queerness of most of the dead (and thus why they were targeted) by insisting that the dead were merely “Floridians” and “human beings” was maddening. Oh, so LBTQ people are sex deviants when they want to marry, and child molesters when they want to use a bathroom, but it takes dying to be

She’s been TERRRRRRIBLE on so many things. :( There was an article on here recently about her taking donations from Drumpf days before declining to investigate his fake “university”.

Wow. A journalist asking challengingly confrontational questions like a journalist is supposed to do. And asking follow ups to challenge the answers, no less.

Not only is she an attorney, she’s one of the state attorneys who stopped investigating Trump “University” and coincidentally got campaign donations from Herr Drumpf.

She’s an attorney? A real one? Not an Orly Taitz matchbook cover school of law attorney, but an actual, should be able to speak better off the cuff than the average reality show star, attorney?

Wait, were you just referring to a completely unrelated recent tragedy to paint me as some potential mass murderer, just because I’m from India? And I’m the “piece of work”?

I did! Look, no reason for concern, that steep increase over the last 100 years doesn’t at represent a drastic trend at all.

Pascal’s Wager applied to the environment. Love it. I reduce that to a comic I saw once: “What happens if we make the world a better place and it’s all for nothing?"

My favorite response to all the climate change deniers: Assume nothing we’re going to do changes the climate at all, and we transition to clean energy sources. Well, we’re off of fossil fuels, a non-renewable resource control by some horrible people who are using the money to subjugate their people and rule like kings

“Natural’” warmer state. Except the state it was in was completely natural too, and we’re pumping in carbon by completely artificial means.

“in light of our apparent inability to give a shit about climate change”

Let’s imagine man makes no impact whatsoever. If the planet is heating up, all on its own to a point where it might be inhospitable for human life - wouldn’t you want to see if there was something that could be done regardless?

It has happened several times, you’re right. But not this quickly. This isn’t about being arrogant. Arrogance would be thinking we can do whatever we want and it’ll have no appreciable impact.

sounds like something a synth would say

I’m not a big fan of the “natural warmer state,” since that didn’t involve humans, and I’m one of those.

Interesting data, neh? From a geologic perspective, our contributions are rather small however. About 450 million years ago or so, the CO2 levels were around 2200 PPM. Quite fascinating how warming trends can precede an increase in CO2 due to the change in the ocean temperatures. Warmer oceans, more CO2 released.

One issue is that with warming temperatures, forests are increasingly struggling to flourish in many climates as well. And certain flora will have an immensely difficult challenge ahead to “migrate” to more hospitable zones in a much shorter amount of time than they ever had to in the past.

Time to start a crash project to repopulate forests. We may not capture 100 billion tons of carbon, we can get some of it.
