Oh I didn’t mean that they weren’t all over... more that the lack of braveness in the recipes might not be all over. Some of the ones you describe sound like they’d have amazing food. You’re right. I could see community cookbooks being even more awesome in our current food focused era.
I feel like church cookbooks are somewhat regional. I learned mind and artery destroyingly good dessert recipes (many quite brave and complex) from my Mom’s Southern church cookbooks.
