I see your point, but will say that passive resistance and civil disobedience usually work by changing the heart of the public, not the oppressor. The oppressor is simply forced to give in to pressure resulting from a change in public opinion.

And there is zero equivalency if you look at Obama’s wins. There was no gloating. Just the opposite. We had the “lift all boats” attitude. Unfortunately we got smacked with the nastiest pushback and he couldn’t or wouldn’t fight harder. It’s my greatest frustration with Obama. Too damn middle of the road.
