I just realize that I would watch pretty much anything with Michael Shannon in a principal role.

“They filled up the Chicken Man in Philly last night” - Bruce Wingsteen.

No kidding - would it have been much of a stretch to use humour to correct his mispronunciation of her name? I suspect, also, that she wasn’t as crippled by this incident as the story makes it sound.  This article has a click bait feel to it.

I feel the same way - it was a fantastic standalone series as it was originally intended. Season 1 was so character driven by actors who will not be reprising their roles (with the exception of Jennifer Coolidge).  IMHO this might as well be Season 1B.

There is a special circle of hell reserved for “Dr.” Phil (and Dr. Oz as well).

I was going to muse whether he’s gone off his meds again but on second thought I wondered whether he is ever on his meds.

I’m wondering if revisiting the Silmarillion and Book of Lost Tales would make the show more interesting, rather than the other way around.

I really have to dive back into the Silmarillion - I tried to read it when I was in my late teens/early 20's but didn’t have the attention span - same with The Book of Lost Tales. Perhaps this series can provide a bit of a gateway to go back into it.

Also, what made Tony Soprano and Walter White interesting characters was it made us consider the nature of good and evil, nature vs. nurture, and the issue of redemption. I am not aware of anything in Sauron’s canon of those issues being central. In the larger Tolkien universe - yes - but not with Sauron.

Musical... uggh :(

Perhaps if he read books, he’d be better informed.

Just finished watching and it was hilarious.  It had over-the-top nods to Evil Dead 2 and some fun scares and goofy gore.

Me too!  It was a halloween party when I was an undergrad - went as half man/half woman. It was a bad idea.  LOL

Not that it matters a fig, but I prefer Dominic West to King Charles III - better yet, I’d like to nominate Colin Firth to be the current monarch. Actually, how about Paddington Bear?  He’d be a suitable monarch and much less costly to The Realm.  Keep in mind this is coming from a Canadian non-monarchist.

Too bad that the US didn’t see this coming. Obviously entirely a PR move but **assuming*** Snowden was on the right side of history, the government ought to have found out a way of bringing him back into the fold so Russia wouldn’t be able to promote him as a poster child. On the other hand, he could, in a patriotic

I just read the article of source material linked above.  Fascinating story but a less than satisfying resolution.  It will be interesting to see how it is handled dramatically.  I hope that the Broaddus family sold the story and are in a position to recoup some of the costs they have incurred by holding on to the

I presume that was a rhetorical question?

If there are no monsters, screw it.
