I really like Claude and use it quite a bit. It’s definitely better than Gemini. That AI is a steaming pile in almost every way.

Cooking does not get rid of prions. I know, I know...the above article did not say that it did and yes cooking will get rid of all of the other nasty parasites, but I still wanted to say that out loud.

My Father-in-Law died in 2020 from CJD. He died within 6 weeks of being diagnosed. It’s a terrible and frightening way to go. He was a brilliant doctor his whole life and then one day it was like a switch flipped and the cognitive decline happened so rapidly that within a span of only a couple weeks he couldn’t

What people think quicksand looks like.

And that’s a bad thing?

Is it just me or does every Millenial and Gen X’er have an irrational fear of quick sand, even though it’s incredibly rare? I feel like that was beaten into us by television and movies during the 90s.

“Personally, I thought it was fear-mongering. I don’t think they presented anything that would make people in the field worried,” she said.

“Project Hail Mary” is by Andy Weir.  You’ve got it listed as “Christopher Weir”, which is not correct.

That actually happened a few months ago. Unfortunately don’t know why it happened either, though I too hope the next place Gizmodo ends up will have avatars back.

All I can say is... soon ;-)

pull your nearest Fire Box

That happened months ago, as part of Kinja continuing to break & nobody doing anything to fix it.

“If you have an emergency and need assistance pull your nearest Fire Box,” the Boston Fire Dept. tweeted.

Slightly unrelated question. Do you know when Gizmodo is moving off of Kinja into its own platform?

Are you insinuating that RTD is an AI? Because that would make a lot of sense.

Gizmodo was recently bought out by a separate company that now owns us and not Kotaku, so yeah we’re gonna be covering gaming news separately now.

The second super Mario movie should just be some random unrelated anime movie with the protagonists names changed to Mario Luigi and Peach , as is tradition.

This theory is far too well thought out and coherent to be the actual plan. They will come up with a much sillier and stupider explanation.

Well... this just goes to show the difference between RTD “clever” and Steven Moffat clever. Can we all just agree that anagrams and bad puns, especially ones that aren’t even up on screen until they’re “revealed”, and which make no logistical sense when you think about then for longer than a second, are the least

What we’ve gotten is pretty much what I was afraid of when I heard RTD was returning. The whole season has been like an AI generated mishmash of previous tropes. The Moffatt episode was perhaps the most guilty of that. I’ve been watching since the 80s and really the only think that keeps me watching is hope and that
