I’ve had deep fried, battered, avocado before and found it AMAZING. Though the waitress said they use almost-ripe and firmer avocados for it. Otherwise, yes, *cooking* avocado is weird.
Exactly. The wait staff are your friends. Be friendly and honest with them and they will help you out. Return that favor by tipping well. And if anybody gives you shit about the correct fork you have my permission to throat punch them.

Depends on the special. If the special is soup, skip it; they probably used whatever they had left. If the special is based on some local/seasonal ingredient, go for it; it’s probably special because they have a limited supply.
